1. HOW DOES THE ORDER PROCESS WORK

Customers can view available dishes up to a 30-day rolling window, and can order meals in advance for future dates. You can order multiple dishes from multiple cooks all so that you can very conveniently plan your entire week of dining in one easy checkout. Portion size is defined by each Chef against the dish and any other requirements can be mentioned in the special notes section.

Once you checkout, your cook will confirm the order and you’re all set. You can chat directly with the cook via the APP, if you need to communicate to your cook. On the day of your order, you can pick-up the order from your Chef on the agreed upon pickup window/location.

For delivery orders, the Chef delivery driver will arrive at your delivery address at the indicated delivery time on your order receipt.



2. WHO ARE URBAN TUMMY HOME CHEFS?

They are individuals who are already sharing their culinary passion and talent with friends and family and love cooking. Home chefs do not need to have a culinary degree or be a professional chef. Most of our home chefs are:

  • Former food industry professionals who want to avoid the intense demands of the restaurant industry but still want to cook for a living
  • Food entrepreneurs, who already run their own catering operations and would like more support as they build their business
  • Stay at home parents or grandparents who are incredible cooks, who are seeking a supplemental, side income
  • Folks who are already sharing their food at farmers’ markets and other community centers


3. WHO ARE URBAN TUMMY HAWKER CHEFS?

They are individuals with stalls within your own community who are serving everything from full meals to snacks and drinks. You'll usually find a selection of local dishes, fusion dishes as well as flavors from across the world.



4. ARE MEALS DELIVERED OR DO I NEED TO PICK THEM UP?

Customers can choose between both pickup or delivery options. We recommend you look into the Chef listings to understand what options are available specific to the Chef.



5. WILL MEALS BE FRESH?

Absolutely! Urban Tummy is a private cook platform where home Chefs are making themselves available for hire to buy ingredients and prepare home-made, wholesome meals for neighbors who are part of the same neighborhood or community. All of the meals you order are made fresh by your chefs.



6. DO YOU DELIVER IN MY NEIGHBOURHOOD?

To find out whether there are active chefs in your neighborhood specific to your requirement date, please sign in to Urban Tummy APP and enter your zip code to search for available chefs/dishes



7. WILL MEALS DELIVERED BE HOT OR COLD?

Yes! Our cooks prepare your order only after you place it, which means food is sourced, cooked, and packaged same-day and fresh. When you receive your order, it will be packaged hot and ready to eat. Of course, you can always refrigerate it and consume later, or even save your left overs for the following day. Remember, after an order is confirmed on the app, you can chat directly with your home chef and customise basis your requirement, in real-time.



8. WHAT ABOUT LOCAL LAWS AND REGULATIONS?

Before you apply to become a chef for Urban Tummy, it’s important that you check the local laws applicable to you and make sure you’re in compliance with them. By opening an account with Urban Tummy, you’re agreeing that you are and will remain in compliance with such laws and regulations.



9. CAN I LEAVE A REVIEW OR RATING FOR MY CHEF?

Yes! A couple days after receiving your food, you will receive an email asking you to rate and review your chef experience. Your feedback will be shared with the chef who prepared your food. You can also reach out to us anytime at [email protected] with comments or questions.



10. CAN I READ CUSTOMER REVIEWS FOR EACH CHEF?

You can view star ratings for each chef by visiting their dish selection page and reviews if submitted by other users.



11. CAN I CONTACT A CHEF DIRECTLY?

You can always chat with the Chef before or after placing the order via our live messaging option within Urban Tummy app.



12. HOW BIG ARE THE PORTION SIZES?

Portion sizes vary and we suggest you look at each of the dish listings to understand the serving portion.



13. I HAVE A FOOD ALLERGY. CAN I STILL ORDER DISHES?

Although our chefs try their best to list all the ingredients they use in each of their meals, they are unable to guarantee an allergy-free cooking environment. Therefore, if you have a severe food allergy, we would recommend not ordering on the platform at this time.



14. DO YOU DELIVER FOOD TO OFFICES? DO YOU HAVE A CORPORATE PARTNERSHIP PROGRAM?
